Golden Cap Camping
Golden Cap Holiday Park is home to Big Berries, a spacious summer camping field with 150+ non-electric pitches and plenty of space to spread out. This 16 acre field is perfect for groups and families and is suitable for tents and VWs. The sloping field enjoys great views over the Dog House hills to the clifftop peak of Thorncombe Beacon, as well as Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast of England. There are fantastic facilities just a few minutes walk away with a laundry room (charges apply), ironing facilities, hairdryers, toilets, showers and a freezer for ice blocks.
Golden Cap’s location just a few hundred metres from the beach at Seatown makes it a popular option for anyone looking for camping near Lyme Regis. Dogs are welcome with all camping bookings (max of 3) and prices vary per night depending upon the time of year. There is a small enclosed dog exercising meadow on the park for exercising dogs off the lead. For families, there is a picnic area with sea views at the front of the park, a children’s playground and a fishing lake (permit required). Next to the Park Reception there is a SPAR convenience store for all your holiday essentials. The South West Coast Path passes the park entrance and a further 100 metres south you will reach Seatown Beach and the award-winning Anchor Inn pub.
You can walk along the bridleway and footpaths to the village of Chideock with its 2 pubs, bus stops to catch the Jurassic Coast bus and convenience store. The park is just a few miles west from the market town of Bridport and fishing village of West Bay, where there is a choice of supermarkets, places to eat and things to do. Venture west and you will reach the coastal village of Charmouth with its heritage coast centre and guided fossil walks, as well as Lyme Regis, a charming town with sandy beach, cobb harbour and independant shops. Golden Cap Holiday Park is in a fantastic location for viewing the night sky – find out more about stargazing.
