Pitch up just a few hundred metres from the beach in your motorhome, touring caravan or campervan at Golden Cap Holiday Park. Golden Cap has a choice of hard-base, gravel and grass pitches available for a great holiday in Dorset. The pitches are located close to the park entrance, just a few hundred metres walk from Seatown Beach and the South West Coast Path.
All of the pitches accommodate vehicles up to 7.5 metres (24.6 feet) and include electric hook up. The River Winniford flows past the park and many of the pitches in the sloping field enjoy views of the surrounding hillsides, as well as Golden Cap, the highest cliff on the south coast of England. Access to the park was much improved in 2019 with many passing points for motorhomes and touring caravans along the 1 mile stretch of lane from the A35 to Seatown.
The hard-base pitches enjoy partial sea views, drainage and water points. The gravel and grass pitches are located within the Red Hill View are of the park, along with the camping pitches and glamping accommodation. The pitches all have use of the toilet and shower block, with clean and well maintained facilities including a laundry room (charges apply), washing up sinks, a freezer for ice blocks, free hairdryers and more. Dogs are welcome with all touring & motorhome bookings (max of 2) and prices vary per night depending upon the time of year. There is a small enclosed dog exercising meadow on the park for exercising dogs off the lead. For families, there is a picnic area with sea views at the front of the park, a children’s playground and a fishing lake (permit required).
At the Park Reception and Park Shop there is a pizza takeaway, hot and cold drinks, ice creams and much more. The South West Coast Path passes the park entrance and a further 100 metres south you will reach Seatown Beach and the award-winning Anchor Inn pub. There are non-electric pitches available for VWs in the Big Berries summer camping field, which is open for 6 weeks and has great views over the valley and coast. The field has fantastic facilities just a few minutes walk away with a laundry room (charges apply), toilets, showers and a freezer for ice blocks.
The village of Chideock is just a short walk away along the footpath, where there are 2 more fantastic village pubs, a convenience store and a bus stop for the Jurassic Coaster bus that goes to many great locations. The park is just a few miles from Lyme Regis, known as the pearl of Dorset with its independent shops, sandy beach and historic cobb harbour wall, and Charmouth with its fossil beach and heritage coast centre. Head east and you can explore the iconic Colmer’s Hill, the market town of Bridport with its arts and antiques scene and the fishing village of West Bay with its well-known golden cliffs and harbour. The park is located in an area with very little light pollution and is perfect for stargazing. From March to October you can even see the milkyway with your own eyes!
