Seatown Beach (West) Webcam
Take in the ever-changing scenery of the Jurassic Coast from our Golden Cap webcam, positioned above Seatown Beach with a spectacular view towards Golden Cap. Rising dramatically from the coastline, Golden Cap is the highest point on the south coast of England and one of the most recognisable landmarks in West Dorset.
There’s always something different to see from this viewpoint. On a bright summer’s day, look out across the blue waters of Lyme Bay and watch visitors enjoying Seatown Beach below. When the weather changes, the view becomes even more dramatic, with dark clouds gathering over the sea, waves rolling into the beach and the cliffs taking on a completely different character. The webcam is also a great place to watch the seasons change, from bright spring days and summer sunshine to autumn storms and crisp winter mornings.
The view takes in Seatown Beach, a beautiful shingle beach nestled between West Bay and Lyme Regis. It’s a popular spot for relaxing by the sea, fishing, fossil hunting and watching the world go by. Just above the beach you’ll find The Anchor Inn, a traditional Dorset pub with a large garden and terraces overlooking the Jurassic Coast – a particularly lovely place to stop for food or a drink while watching the sun go down.
The South West Coast Path passes nearby and provides some spectacular walking along this section of the Jurassic Coast. From the top of Golden Cap, you can enjoy far-reaching views across Lyme Bay and the surrounding countryside. The webcam itself also provides a great way to check the conditions before heading out for a coastal walk.

Stay at Golden Cap Holiday Park
The webcam is located at our Golden Cap Holiday Park, just 150 yards from Seatown Beach and surrounded by around 2,000 acres of National Trust countryside. The park sits in a peaceful valley alongside the River Winniford, making it an ideal base for exploring the Jurassic Coast on foot.
There are plenty of ways to stay, including lodges, holiday caravans, glamping pods, holiday cottages, camping and touring pitches. Many of the lodges and caravans enjoy views towards the coast, while the park’s camping and touring areas put you within an easy walk of Seatown Beach.
There are also plenty of reasons to stay on the park itself, including a Pizzeria, SPAR shop, children’s play area, fishing lake, dog exercise meadow, nature trail and sea-view picnic area.
