The Jurassic Coaster Bus

If you plan on exploring the local area by public transport and leaving your car on the park, we highly recommend taking the Jurassic Coaster Bus. The double decker follows a scenic route along the Jurassic Coast and offers a convenient way to travel during your camping or caravan holiday in Dorset. You won’t need to worry about navigating winding country lanes or finding parking at your destination when travelling by bus. Simply sit back, relax and let someone else do the driving as you take in the changing views of the Dorset countryside and coast.

 

Bus from Lyme Regis to Poole

The route stretches from Lyme Regis to Poole and there are bus stops by the majority of our Dorset holiday parks, so you won’t have to walk far at the beginning or end of the day. The service is operated by First Group and there are frequent buses throughout the day during high season (there is a reduced service in the winter). Day passes can be purchased on the bus and permit ticket holders to unlimited travel 0n the First Network – just hop on and off as you please. Group passes are also available and are excellent value for groups of up to 5.

 

West Dorset public transport

The Jurassic Coaster stops at picturesque towns and villages throughout Dorset, including Weymouth, Abbotsbury, West Bexington, Burton Bradstock and West Bay. Stops are well positioned for visiting award-winning attractions and points of interest such as Abbotsbury Swannery, Golden Cap and the Sealife Centre.

From the top deck you’ll be able to take in the far-reaching views from an elevated position. Some of the buses on this route are open top, which is perfect for the summer and snapping photos as you go! Ask the driver for one of the handy brochures, with colourful map and suggestions of places to visit along the route. They’ll also have a printed timetable booklet that you can use to plan your journey and return to the park. Many guests make use of this fantastic service during a holiday at one of the West Dorset Leisure Holidays parks. It’s a fantastic option for hikers looking to head walk in one direction and catch the bus back!
