Looking Back at 2025
2025 has certainly been a busy and rewarding year across all of our Parks. We’ve had new developments, environmental projects, award wins, fundraising and a calendar full of memorable events, in a year that seemed to fly by quicker than ever. Though we’re already getting excited for 2026, first let’s take a look back at 2025 to celebrate all the highlights, along with a few teasers of what you can expect next year…
Awards & Recognition
We’re incredibly proud of the awards we’ve picked up this year, reflecting our commitment to providing great guest experiences, as well as sustainability and innovation. Check out 2025’s trophy cabinet:

- Dorset Tourism Awards 2025/26: Holiday Park Of The Year – Silver (Highlands End)

- Practical Caravan Top 100 Sites (Highlands End and Golden Cap)
- Go Outdoors Top 10 Campsites (Highlands End and Sandyholme)
- Bridport Business Awards: Independent Business Award – Winner (WDLH)
As well as winning at the Bridport Business Awards, we also sponsored an award category and hosted the next round of presentations – The West Dorset Gold Awards! We also recently found out that we’re through to the finals of the 2026 Bridport Business Awards, so we hope to have more happy news to share with you in January.
Charity & Community
We’ve always strived to give back to local charities and organisations, and this year we did something a bit different. We chose 4 local organisations who benefit the Jurassic Coast, and split the money raised from voluntary contributions made during the booking process and while collecting Holiday Home owner pitch fees. Over ÂŁ9,000 was split between West Bay Discovery Centre, Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre, Clean Jurassic Coast and The South West Coast Path Association.
Our recent Highlands End Maker’s Market was another successful event, raising over ÂŁ3600 for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice. Other smaller events during the year have raised ÂŁ600 for Cancer Research UK and over ÂŁ300 for the RNLI. Martin’s Bar & Restaurant was yet again used to hold two Curry Lunch fundraisers for the Bridport Cancer Research Group, raising almost ÂŁ5,800 for them.
We bought Ropey the Elephant from Weldmar Hospice‘s Stampede By The Sea fundraising auction, which raised thousands for the charity. We decided to donate him to the town of Bridport for everyone’s enjoyment and he’s since visited a number of town events including Bridport Hat Festival, Melplash Show, the Carnival and many more, spreading awareness of the Hospice’s work.
We also raised money to install and maintain a new defibrillator, located at Chideock Stores. This, along with the others already on our Parks, will help safeguard the community and the many travellers who drive along the road here.
Wildlife & Environment
As well as raising money for environmental causes along the coast, we’re also actively doing our bit right here on the Parks.
At Highlands End we planted around 6000 trees in early ’25, including a woodland and a number of hedgerows as part of a rewilding project. This ongoing project also involved an area of grassland restoration, with species of grasses specifically chosen to maximise carbon capture in the soil. We’ve built a new bird hide over by our wildlife lake, so that guests can watch the wildlife flourish with minimal disturbance. The latest solar panel development has generated over 250MWh of energy this year, enough to power 92 average UK households for a year, or charge over 375,000 smartphones. We’ve now planted an apple orchard around the area, which will grow to make the panels less noticable.
Over at Graston Copse we’re thrilled to have a working bee colony back in our hives, and hope to be producing enough honey to sell in the shop again by next year. At Sandyholme we allowed one of our fields to grow into a large wildflower meadow and we were overjoyed by the diverse range of bees, butterflies, bugs, birds and bunnies that made the area their home. Our guests also enjoyed walking through the area using the paths we cut for this purpose.
Highlands End Farm
It was another busy year for the Highlands End Farm Team, starting once again with a busy Spring and the arrival of over 300 lambs. We’ve also started supplying Martin’s Bar with lamb reared right here, bringing our farm-to-table mileage to the distance of just a field or two!
Our herd of alpacas grew once again to a total of 17! We welcomed four adorable little cria (babies) over the Summer, and our Facebook followers even voted to name one of them. In the Autumn, we brought in two more boys to keep Vader company, who grew into a teenager and started realising he was a boy in a pen full of girls! Our free meet & greet sessions were more popular than ever, and we had over 1100 people booked to come and feed them. We’ve already scheduled lots of dates for next year, so if you’re staying with us, make sure to reserve your spot early, as we do expect many dates to fill up.
We also held a Farm open day with lots of activities for children, and hosted a visit for a local school who learned lots about soil, and the importance of bugs and worms.
Accommodation & Pitches
As always, we’ve made a number of small (and not-so-small) changes and improvements across our Parks as we constantly aim to improve our offering to customers.
As well as replacing a number of our older Caravans, we added more for hire at Golden Cap, Highlands End and Sandyholme, increasing our availability. We’re replacing a number more this winter, which we’re excited to say will be for sale next year, offering a great value way of starting a Holiday Home ownership journey.
At Eype Beach we sited three luxurious Glamping Pods with exceptional sea views and hope these will be available to book in the Spring. Our Silver Glamping Pods at Highlands End had a mini refurb and we absolutely love their new look!
Sales & Ownership
Another exciting year of development and growth was had on the Holiday Home sales front.
We added more Lodges and Caravans to the Red Hill View development at Golden Cap, and welcomed our first few owners to this area of the Park. We also started work on a long-term project at Graston Copse, by constructing a new wildlife pond and surrounding it by planting – the first steps in an exciting development that will take shape over the next few years.
At Eype Beach we finished the landscaping for our new Lodge development and proudly named the area Thorncombe Heights. After much anticipation, our first Lodge arrived and it is an absolute beauty! It should be available for a buyer to take the keys in the Spring, and we’re excited that our next Lodge is due to arrive on the Park early next year too!
We held a number of open days across our Parks and recently announced next years dates too. We also held lots more events for our owners community this year and are already thinking up some fun ideas for next year’s events… Cocktail Masterclass anyone?
Food & Drink
This year, Martin’s Bar & Resetaurant turned 40 years old after first opening its doors in 1985. While lots has changed since then, many things, like our commitment to locally sourcing our food & drink, have stayed the same. 2025 saw the continuation of our popular Curry Night and Roast On The Coast Carvery, as well as some truly delicious specials on the menu. We also hosted a number of discos, parties, live music acts and other special events. We’ll be welcoming local cocktail legends Dark Bear to Martin’s Bar regularly next year, which we are so excited for, as well as bringing back breakfast and brunch, which we have certainly missed.
At our other Parks, we welcomed a range of catering companies who provided delicious takeaways for our guests, owners and Team members throughout the season. Golden Cap, Graston Copse and Sandyholme each enjoyed a different local pizza company and we also had fish & chips, Indian street food and even a mobile cocktail bar! We’re absolutely over the moon to reveal that Golden Cap will be getting its very own fresh pizza takeaway facility next year and we can’t wait to start taste testing the menu.
Activities & Facilities
Dorset Foot Golf celebrated its first birthday in May and we marked the occasion by installing a brand new obstacle – a large loop-the-loop painted to look like an ammonite. We also added and tweaked a number of other obstacles on the course as we constantly aim to improve it and switch things up. In its second year of opening we’re thrilled that almost 11,000 people played the course this year, and saw a great mixture of holiday guests and local residents.
Elsewhere at Highlands End, we added an extra obstacle trail to the play area in the camping & touring area, and installed fun outdoor gym equipment at the entrance to the Park which our guests have loved using.
Highlands End Leisure Club has now closed for the rest of the year, as we undergo an exciting refurbishment and the installation of a brand new thermal suite to replace the original sauna & steam room from the mid-90’s. This will mean more space in both rooms, and a new ice cold shower for those hardy enough to brave the dramatic temperature difference!
Technology & Innovation
The WDLH app received its first major update this year, with additional features and a sleek new look. It’s now been downloaded over 40,000 times – that’s a lot of holidays that have been improved by easy access to comprehensive lists of events, places to visit, walking routes, discounts and more. The app also works on our new digital marketing screens at Highlands End, which we’re hoping to roll out ot other Parks in the future.
We’ve invested in and upgraded our wifi systems at Sandyholme, Golden Cap and Highlands End and are currently setting up a brand new booking system to operate across all our Parks. Once live, the new system promises a simpler booking process, an easier way to select a specific Caravan, Lodge or Pod, more flexible stay lengths in our hire accommodation and the option for guests to secure their holidays using a payment plan if they wish.
Your Holidays In Photos
After all that, the most important thing that happened this year was that so many of you had fantastic holidays in Dorset! We absolutely love looking through your photo competition entries at the end of the year as they show us just how much fun our guests have whilst they’re here. Here’s just some of our favourites…
