The Lodge

Located on Pitch 1 and measuring in at 50 x 20ft, this Lodge is a fully bespoke model, built to the highest specifications by local manufacturers Timber Venture. Every inch of the build has been designed to make the most of the incredible view, while maintaining privacy from future pitches nearby.

Décor has been thoughtfully chosen throughout to keep the Lodge feeling bright, but with cosy and calming elements too. Soft greens are paired with shades of teal and navy, and hints of gold compliment the warm tones from the oak used throughout in doors, panels and furniture.

The Living Area

Floor to ceiling windows flood this open plan area with natural light. Lounge-style seating encourages complete relaxation, with a 42” smart TV, small coffee table and electric fireplace. Statement light features add excitement to the high ceiling, which is accented by a large oak beam. Seamlessly move from in to out, through the two sets of sliding patio doors to the decking.

The Kitchen

Marble worktops house a series of high-end integrated appliances including a raised double oven, 4-ring gas hob, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, fridge-freezer and wine chiller. The central island provides a sociable place to eat, drink, chat and prepare food with low-hanging pendant lights to focus light on the worktop, and a lower height surface for dining at. All drawers and cabinet doors are soft-closing and there is plenty of storage space both above and below the counter tops. A set of bifold doors offer an additional way outside to the decking.

The Master Bedroom

With a king-size bed and more floor-to-ceiling windows, the Master bedroom is another place to appreciate both the sea and countryside views available from this Lodge. Alternatively, you could cosy up with a book or watch the wall-mounted smart TV. A large walk-in-wardrobe and dressing room area lead to the Master en-suite, with toilet, sink, large shower cubicle including dual shower heads and towel radiator.

The Twin Bedroom

This spacious Twin room comes with zip-link beds, allowing you to configure this as a double or twin room with two full-size singles. Another smart TV is mounted to the wall, and there’s a generously-sized wardrobe and shared bedside table.

The Bathroom

The main family bathroom provides a luxurious and spa-like experience that you almost won’t want to leave. Relax in the 2-person infra-red sauna, or soak in the massaging jet bathtub that can be used as a regular shower too. Of course, there is a toilet, sink and towel radiator too.

The Snug

Currently set up as a snug area with sofa-bed, beanbags, coffee table and smart TV, this room offers a wealth of possibilities to really make the lodge your own. Keep it as it is, or use it as a third bedroom, office area, hobby room or simply additional storage.

The Hallway

The spacious entryway to the Lodge is full of practical touches to make daily life easier. We’ve included a bench seat for removing and storing shoes, a sideboard to place bags and keys, coat hooks and multiple storage cupboards, inside one of which you’ll find the washer/dryer. This area sits under a large Velux roof light, filling your entrance with light.

The Decking

The large, glass-fronted decking runs the entire length of the East and South-facing sides of the Lodge, measuring at 11 foot wide to the East, and 4 foot wide to the South. This has been designed to make the most of the views, and to catch sun from sunrise, throughout the afternoon and into the early evening. Included is a set of comfortable garden furniture and a lockable outdoor storage box perfect for a barbeque, beach gear, parasol or cushions.

Nearby Facilities

Owners at Thorncombe Heights benefit from all the facilities at Eype Beach’s sister Park Highlands End, located on the opposite side of the valley and just a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. Here you can find Martin’s Bar & Restaurant, Highlands End Lesiure Club with swimming pool, sauna and steam room, Dorset Foot Golf, a SPAR convenience store, children’s play areas and more.

Eype

Pronounced “Eep”, the name of the village means “steep place”, and its steepness is what gives Thorncombe Heights such breathtaking views. In the village you’ll find numerous small 18^th and 19^th century cottages lining the lane leading down to the sea. St Peter’s Church doubles as Eype Centre for the Arts, hosting exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year. The New Inn is the local dog-friendly pub, owned by Palmer’s Brewery, the oldest thatched brewery in the UK and based just a couple of miles away in Bridport. There’s also Eype’s Mouth Hotel with its own restaurant, and a small café at the base of the Park. Just a few hundred metres from the Lodges is Eype Beach itself, a secluded spot that’s often described by locals as a bit of a hidden gem. Unlike some others in the area, this shingle beach is dog-friendly all year round.

The Local Area

The nearest town of Bridport is a bustling town, with a popular twice-weekly market full of independent traders, bakers, crafters and producers. You’ll find a number of fantastic places to eat and drink both in Bridport and its harbour town of West Bay, which is just a short walk over the cliff from Eype. The region’s artistic connections mean the town enjoys literary festivals, art exhibitions, comedy performances and renowned musicians, as well as quirky and unique events like the Bridport Hat Festival. Further afield is the town of Lyme Regis, known as the “Pearl of Dorset” with its historic cobb harbour, independent shops and fossil-rich beaches. There’s also Weymouth with its miles of fine, golden sand and sheltered waters perfect for swimming.

Key Information

This Lodge is for sale as a Holiday Home and is available to use for holidays at any point during the 10.5 month Holiday Season. It is not possible to visit outside of the Season during the closure period which usually falls as a 5-6 week period in January-February. This Lodge is strictly for holiday use and can not be lived in or used to run a business. Owners may have visitors and allow friends and family to use the Lodge, however it is not permitted to sub-let, rent out or make profit from allowing guests to stay. The Lodge is dog-friendly and up to 3 dogs may visit at once.
