Dorset Foot Golf celebrates 1 year of opening

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since Dorset Foot Golf opened at Highlands End Holiday Park in Bridport, Dorset! On this special occasion, we’re thrilled to celebrate 12 months of family-friendly fun, stunning Jurassic Coast views and unforgettable moments on our unique 18-hole crazy foot golf course.

A Hole-in-One Idea

Dorset Foot Golf was born with a simple goal: to combine the excitement of football with the strategy of golf, creating an activity that’s enjoyable for all ages and abilities. Nestled on the clifftops overlooking West Bay, our 18-hole course replaced the former 9-hole Pitch ‘n’ Putt, introducing a fresh twist with obstacles like tractor tyres, tunnels, ramps, hoops, bunkers, and iconic coastal landmarks such as Durdle Door and Colmer’s Hill. The result? A challenging and fun experience that’s perfect for families, friends, colleagues and even well-behaved dogs on leads.Since opening, we’ve welcomed over 6,500 of visitors, from local Dorset residents to holidaymakers exploring the Jurassic Coast. Whether you’re a seasoned footballer or someone who’s never kicked a ball before, our course has proven to be a hit, with players spending 1 to 1.5 hours navigating its hilly terrain and soaking in the breathtaking sea views.

Highlights from Our First Year

One of the biggest joys has been seeing our course become a go-to activity for families and groups, with guests staying on-park playing as well as local residents and other holidaymakers staying across Dorset. We’ve loved offering a 10% discount through the WDLH app. This perk has made it even easier for holidaymakers staying on our parks to add a round of foot golf to their coastal getaway, with bookings seamlessly handled online or at the on-site SPAR Convenience Store. The course is open to the public year-round, and no prior football skills are required—just a pair of trainers. Our course’s coastal theme, complete with obstacles inspired by local landmarks, has been a standout feature, earning praise for blending Dorset’s natural beauty with a quirky, active experience.Highlands End Holiday Park has been the perfect home for our course, offering players access to amenities like ample parking, EV chargers, toilets, a children’s outdoor play area, indoor soft play, alpacas, and Martin’s Bar & Restaurant with Costa Coffee and pool tables. After a round, many visitors have made a day of it, grabbing a meal or relaxing with a drink at the beer garden.

What’s Next for Dorset Foot Golf?

As we kick off our second year, we’re more excited than ever to keep the good times rolling. To celebrate one year of opening, we’ve just installed a GIANT ammonite-inspired loop the loop (adding a Jurassic twist), as well as obstacles in the shape of local landmark, Colmer’s Hill. We’re always open to new ideas for obstacles and over the coming months we also hope to be adding more planting and wildflowers on the rough areas of the course, between the holes.
