An Active Day at West Bay
A day trip to West Bay is a must when visiting West Dorset, especially in the Summer! There are a number of areas of beach you can choose to relax on, but we’d recommend East Beach, which is lifeguarded at certain times. On this beach you can find Bay Paddle Boards, who offer paddle board hire and lessons. For lunch we recommend heading to one of the kiosks and grabbing a traditional seaside fish and chips, and perhaps a delicious locally-made ice cream from Baboo Gelato. Another adrenaline-filled activity you can enjoy in West Bay is a boat trip from Lyme Bay Rib Charter, who offer a 15 minute blast trip or longer, more gentle cruises around Lyme Bay. Once you’re done in West Bay, head take the short drive to Highlands End and try out the Foot Golf course. For dinner you can either enjoy a meal and a drink or two in Martin’s Bar & Restaurant, or buy ingredients from the on-park SPAR to cook your own meal. Please note, not all activities listed here are available all year round.
