The Dinosaur Museum in the county town of Dorchester, is a unique, exciting and amazing attraction. Britain’s original and award-winning attraction, The Dinosaur Museum is just a few miles from our Sandyholme Holiday Park.

The Museum transports visitors back to the prehistoric world of dinosaurs. Set in a Victorian schoolhouse, you can see dinosaur skeletons, walk among lifesize reconstructions and learn through hand-on interactive displays. Hear the sounds and even smell the breath of a T-Rex! Learn from the pioneers of fossil discover, such as Mary Anning and Richard Owen and touch real fossil displays including dinosaur heads, teeth, eggs and even poo. Make your own dinosaur discoveries in the excavation pit, solve dinosaur puzzles and put your hands in a feely box. With iPad games and virtual flashcards, dinosaurs even come to the forefront of technology.

There is a gift shop to explore with fossils, models, clothing and books and you can enhance your visit with free fun sheets to win a dino hunters medal. The Museum is open daily excluding a 2 week period in December and children under 3 go free. Tickets can be booked online and the Museum is near all the main car parks in Dorchester.

  • 5 out of 5 isn't enough!

This is simply our favorite touring park along the south coast. The location couldn't be better with views to die for and an abundance of fresh sea air. The park is spic and span and extremely well kept with very friendly staff.

  • Fantastic Park

10 out of 10 is not enough for this Holiday Park. We have been here 3 times and we love it more and more every time. The park has all you need, with some pitches overlooking the sea and a great restaurant.
