A Day in Lyme Regis
Lyme Regis, known as The Pearl of Dorset, is a wonderful small town that is a fantastic place to visit. It can be busy and difficult to park during the Summer, so if you’re able to walk a bit further, we recommend parking in the large car park on the top of the hill as you enter the town (from the Charmouth side) and walking down along the sea wall. You’ll also get fantastic views from this path and can look for the fossils embedded in the rocks if the tide is out, before walking past the recently unveiled statue of Mary Anning, Lyme Regis’s famous palaeontologist. Once you’re in the centre of the town, you can explore the many shops and museums, before getting your lunch from one of the pubs or kiosks along the seafront. Be sure to walk along the Cobb harbour wall and try your hand at the crazy golf course. On your way back to the park, you could stop at Felicity’s Farm Shop in Morcombelake to buy some local produce for dinner or the next day’s breakfast.
