One of the Best Holiday Parks in Dorset – Golden Cap!
This week, businesses from across the county gathered at Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth for the annual Dorset Tourism Awards. It’s always one of our favourite nights of the year, and we love having the opportunity to catch up and celebrate with our friends and colleagues from across Dorset’s brilliant tourism and hospitality industry.
Having been a little while since we entered Golden Cap Holiday Park for an award, this year we decided it was their turn to step into the spotlight, and what a result! We are thrilled to announce that Golden Cap is officially one of the best Holiday Parks in Dorset, after picking up a brilliant Bronze Award in the Holiday Park Of The Year category for 2026/27. With over 100 Holiday Parks and Campsites across the county, it’s an incredible achievent to be named as one of the top three.
Read on to get just a glimpse of the reasons why we’ve been recognised…
Why Golden Cap is so special…
We might be a little biased, but we truly do think that Golden Cap sits in a beautiful part of Dorset. Just 150 yards from Seatown Beach and surrounded by National Trust countryside, with the South West Coast Path leading in either direction, it’s a fantastic base for exploring the Jurassic Coast. In fact, in last year’s guest feedback, the Park’s location received an average rating of 9.5 out of 10! Whether you’re looking for a morning walk on the beach, a wander to a local pub or a hike up the the highest point on the South coast, there’s plenty to explore without even getting in the car…
How we impressed the judges…
With more Parks applying than ever before, we knew that competition was going to be tough. After a written application and independent judging round, we also received a visit from a member of the judging team at the beginning of the Summer holidays, right at the start of the busy season! Across the application, visit, reviews and our website and social media, judges looked at the following areas:
- Guest satisfaction
- Accessibility and inclusivity
- Sustainable operating practices
- Improvements and additions to the Park
- Community and Team support
- Innovation and future planning
The people who love it here…
A Holiday Park is nothing without the guests who come to stay there! Many of our guests return to Golden Cap year after year, and here’s just a handful of recent comments from reviews…

As well as holiday guests, Golden Cap is home-from-home to over 300 Holiday Home Owners, who have all chosen Seatown as their favourite place to visit. Check out the video below to hear from Jennie & John, who bought a caravan here a few years ago.
