Sherborne Abbey
A place of Christian worship dating from Anglo-Saxon times, the then cathedral was built in 1705 and has transformed through the ages into the Church Abbey that we see today.
Founded by St. Aldhelm in AD 705 the Abbey has developed from Saxon cathedral to the worshipping heart of a monastic community.
One of the most beautiful and architecturally interesting of England’s parish churches and for many it is still the cathedral of Dorset.
