A Trip to Weymouth

Weymouth has been voted the 2nd best beach in the country, and it’s easy to see why. The beach itself is long and flat, and made of fine, soft, golden sand. Sheltered by Portland, and without any steep shelves under the water, it’s also much safer to swim in than many other beaches along the coast, particularly for children. It’s also lifeguarded in peak season. There’s lots to do in Weymouth if you don’t want to spend the whole day on the beach, including lots of shops you’ll recognise as well as cafes, restaurants and bars. You could also visit Nothe Fort, an award-winning attraction with lots to learn for anyone interested in history, and fantastic views in all directions. During peak season, dogs are only allowed in certain areas on Weymouth beach and must be kept on a lead at the Nothe Fort.
