A Relaxing Day of Gentle Strolls

A peaceful retreat for art lovers and those who simply enjoy a walk in nature, Sculpture By The Lakes is a wonderful place to visit if you’re staying at Sandyholme. Please note, due to deep, fast flowing water in places, only children older than 14 may visit. After walking around and enjoying the 26 acres of landscaped gardens and marvelling at the sculptures, you can enjoy lunch at the Gallery Café, which uses many ingredients grown on site. In the afternoon, you could visit Puddletown Forest, where you can see the cottage where Thomas Hardy was born, in the area that inspired much of his famous literature. The woodland is full of walking and cycling trails. This is a dog-friendly day, but they must be kept on leads at the Sculpture Park and some restrictions do apply.
