Eype Beach Local Area

Eype Beach Holiday Park has a fantastic location on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. The park is situated on the side of the clifftop leading up to Thorncombe Beacon, and is right next to the iconic hut used as a key location in the first season of ITV’s popular drama Broadchurch. You’ll also be walking distance from the hidden gem that is Eype Beach itself with its rock pools and fossil hunting; West Bay and its active fishing harbour, chip kiosks and the historic town of Bridport with its twice-weekly market, rope and net making heritage and art/antiques scene.

The iconic Colmer’s Hill is another place close to the park, which is well worth a visit. This conical shaped hill, topped with trees, is particularly beautiful in spring when it is awash with bluebells and there are far-reaching views over Bridport and the Marshwood Vale countryside.

Within a short drive of the park, are many excellent places to visit. Nearby you will find the village of Charmouth, with the Heritage Coast Centre and a beach with some of the best fossil hunting opportunities anywhere in the world. Lyme Regis, known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ is known for its breathtaking scenery, historical landmarks, bustling harbour and independent shops. Venture east and you will find the peaceful village of Burton Bradstock and the scenic Jurassic Coast Road with views over Chesil Beach down the Jurassic Coast towards Weymouth and Portland.

Eype Beach is also just across the valley from Highlands End Holiday Park, where you can find a range of facilities available to you, though charges do apply for some of these. Grab a pint, cocktail and some locally-sourced quality pub food at Martin’s Bar & Restaurant, relax in the indoor pool, sauna & steam room at Highlands End Leisure Club, shop for essentials at the SPAR convenience store, play a game of golf at our Shepherd’s Down Pitch n Putt course of entertain your little ones at The Little Fire Station Soft Play area.
