Golden Cap Accessibility Statement

Golden Cap is a large Holiday Park located just back from the beach in Seatown, with a variety of accommodation, pitches and facilities. On the Park you will find Caravans, Lodges and Glamping Pods for hire, as well as privately owned Holiday Homes and pitches for touring and camping. Facilities include a SPAR convenience store, children’s play area and wildlife lake.

At West Dorset Leisure Holidays we have done our best to make our Parks as accessible as possible, taking into account a wide range of disabilities to our consideration. We have gathered as much information as we can on the page below, however if there are any questions you have, our friendly Bookings Team are always happy to help. We recommend that if you have a disability concern, to get in touch with us before booking, so we can advise you to the best of our knowledge. It’s also the best way to book a specific Lodge or Caravan if, for example, you need one with fewer steps.

On this page you’ll find a range of topics, from information about specific accommodation types and facilities, to more general information that might be useful for those with certain kinds of disability. If you’d like to skip through to just the sections that are relevant to you, simply click on the links to take you to the right sections.

  • Lodges are considerably wider than caravans and offer more spacious living areas and bedrooms.
  • Each lodge has a large, gated decking area, with most having between 4 and 15 steps leading up to the deckings. Lodges with lots of steps have some larger stone steps with no handrail.
  • Seahill is the only Lodge with level access and no steps.

Privately Owned Holiday Homes

  • When purchasing a Holiday Home, there are 3 options – you can either buy a new or a pre-owned Holiday Home that’s already sited and connected on a pitch, or you can choose a vacant pitch and we can order your preferred model to be sited there.
  • All Holiday Homes will be able to have a decking, but the size, shape and location will depend on the pitch you choose.
  • All pre-owned and some new Holiday Homes will come with deckings and steps constructed. The number of steps will vary considerably by pitch and may be between 1 and 7 steps.
  • Depending on the pitch and location, it may be possible to get the steps changed for an access ramp, though this may cost more and/or limit the size of your decking.
  • If you are choosing to order a new model for a vacant pitch, you will be able choose one with a layout and space to suit your requirements. Our Sales Team can advise you on models which may suit your needs.
  • You will be able to park next to or very close to your Holiday Home, with the majority of people parking on hard standing parking spaces, which may or may not be allocated. A small number of pitches must park on grass.
  • Paths to Holiday Homes do not come as standard, if you wish to construct one you must speak to the Park Team first.
  • You will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of your Holiday Home, decking and the grass immediately surrounding you. We can offer help with these services by agreeing on a maintenance programme for a set fee. For more information, please contact our Sales Team.
