Walk in the footsteps of Sir Walter Raleigh and Royalty with a visit to this fascinating castle. Set in beautiful landscaped gardens and covering 400 years of history, Sherborne Castle is one of the treasure houses of England and an absolutely fabulous place to visit.

See relics from the Civil War, historic documents and a collection of family curios. Explore staterooms reflecting a glorious variety of decorative styles from great periods of English history. See fine furniture, family portraits and superb porcelains representing the tastes of the Digby family for more than 400 years.

Experience nationally important collections or art, furniture and porcelain and explore one of Capability Brown’s finest landscapes in the gardens that surround the castle, that include features such as the courtyard garden, the Ginkgo Lawn & Orangery, the boathouse and pier and a new Fossil House. Enjoy colour throughout the season with carpets of spring bulbs, glorious herbaceous borders and the breathtaking colours of autumn reflected in the lake.

Sherborne Castle & Gardens holds a number of events throughout the year, including a country fair, classic car and supercar show and fireworks. There is a tea room and gift shop and opening dates are between Good Friday and the end of October.
