Double Gold Awards for Highlands End!
On the 1st February, businesses from across the county gathered at Weymouth Pavillion to celebrate the annual Dorset Tourism Awards. It’s always a fantastic evening, full of glitz and glamour, and this year’s event proved no exception. The 2023/24 ceremony was the biggest in the awards’ 11 year history, with over 260 guests from a range of businesses and sponsors.
As always, all the businesses in attendance had been through a rigorous application and independent judging process, and have been recognised as industry-leading in their respective fields. The categories covered an array of tourism-related businesses including accommodation, hospitality and experiences.
After taking a break last year, we decided to enter the awards again this year, and entered Highlands End into two categories – Holiday Park Of The Year and the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award.
Holiday Park Of The Year
We were thrilled to win the Holiday Park Of The Year award again. Despite having won this on numerous occasions before at both Dorset and South West level, nothing is ever taken for granted, and we were over the moon to take home the Gold. There are so many incredible Holiday Parks in Dorset and we are grateful to be up there at the top.

Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award
This was our first time entering this category, and we weren’t alone in that – during the visit from the judge, we were told that every year sees a significant increase in the number of applicants in this category. This shows that the businesses of Dorset have sustainability at the forefront of their minds and we couldn’t be more proud to have won Gold for such an important award.
We care about our coast and countryside, and our guests do too. You can read more about our sustainable practices on this page.

After our celebrations were over, it’s straight back to it for our team. Highlands End is open all year round for touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans, as well as our Lodges, Apartments and Bungalows. After our exciting new Glamping Pod development is complete, we hope to be able to offer Glamping all year round too.
Next week is set to be a busy one, with members of the team attending the BH&HPA Conference in London, and others visiting the West Country Tourism Conference and The Source Trade Show, both in Exeter.
