Wookey Hole Caves
This place is not usually open now.
Wookey Hole Caves is one of the UK’s largest cave systems, located under the Mendip Hills in Somerset. There’s lots to do inside and outside the caves including museums, adventure golf, soft play and penny arcades. The visit to the caves takes you through 8 underground chambers, each with a story and unique beauty, as well as the cheese tunnel – home to the delicious Wookey Hole cheese.
Meet the famous Wookey Hole resident, the Witch of Wookey Hole. The Wookey Hole Circus School performs at Wookey Hole at weekends and in school holidays. Wookey Hole is millions of years in the making and in the past has been home to bears, Nenderthals and giant hyenas. The Adventure Golf has 9 unique holes, each with a unique challenge. Navigate treacherous waters as you putt your way through shipwrecks, avoiding hidden obstacles and cleverly designed traps.
Explore three exciting exhibitions at the Wookey Hole Museum and find out more about how Wookey Hole Caves were formed and more about the different people who have lived there over the Millenia.
