West Bexington Beach

West Bexington is a small coastal village located down a quiet track off of the main coastal road. The beach is the main draw to the area and is considered to be one of the quietest sections of Chesil Beach. West Bexington has a steep shingle bank along the length of the shoreline, which is often dotted with anglers. The beach has been untouched by commercial development, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

The sea bed at West Bexington is shelved meaning the water gets deep very quickly. There is no lifeguard service here, so caution is advised if deciding to enter the water. Pay and display parking and public toilets are available next to the beach. Dogs are allowed on West Bexington throughout the year, however there are restrictions on what sections you can access. Nature reserve

The land surrounding West Bexington beach is an Area of Natural Beauty and boasts a nature reserve, which is managed by Dorset Wildlife Trust. The reeds and scrubland have been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest, thanks to rare vegetation that grows here. The protected land is a haven for wildlife and a number of migratory and native species can be spotted on the reserve. The abundant food and shelter provides the ideal place to rest and refuel on the journey to warmer climates in the south. The nature reserve shares land with Tamarisk Farm, an organic farm who have tended the field for generations and produce a wide selection of unique and sustainable produce.

The variety of food on offer in West Bexington is excellent for such a small village. Both the Manor Hotel and The Club House serve a delicious menu of lovingly prepared and locally sourced food, in beautiful surroundings.
