Man O’ War Bay

The other side of the headland to Durdle Door is Man O’ War Bay, and it really is a hidden gem on the Jurassic Coast.

Whilst Durdle Door beach itself can get incredibly busy during the Summer (for obvious reasons), you’ll find that very few people head to Man O’ War Bay right next door. As a result, you may find you have this beautiful beach almost entirely to yourselves, whilst Durdle Door can be packed with tourists. Of course, we recommend going to see Durdle Door and taking some great pictures whilst you’re there, but if you’re after a quieter, more relaxing beach experience, we’d suggest spending the rest of your day out at Man O War Bay. To get to both beaches, you’ll need to climb down some steep, rugged steps, but we promise you it’s worth it!

Man O’ War Bay is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and sheltered by rocky outcrops which make it a safe place to swim. It is also dog friendly all year round. Bear in mind, that there are no facilities here, so make sure you come prepared.
