Bournemouth

Bournemouth is the largest town in Dorset and a favourite amongst visitors to the area. The popular seaside resort is famed for its Victorian architecture and abundance of exciting things to see and do.

Beaches in Bournemouth

There are over 7 miles of beautiful golden sandy beaches in Bournemouth, which provide ample space for outdoors lovers to explore. Adrenaline junkies can take part in a number of water sports activities, including kayaking, sailing and surfing. If you prefer a gentler pace, sit back, relax and enjoy watching the world go by from the comfort of a deckchair. It’s also possible to rent one of the beach huts that line the promenade, including the oldest beach hut in England. At Bournemouth’s main beach, you can enjoy the pier, which houses a number of exciting attractions. If you’re feeling brave there is a zip wire as well as multiple climbing walls.

Shopping

The town centre has a wonderful atmosphere and an excellent selection of high street stores, where you can shop the latest trends. In the small boroughs of Boscombe, Southbourne and Westbourne you will find a number of small independent shops and boutiques to pursue on a leisurely afternoon. Eating out is easy in Bournemouth thanks to the abundance of bars, restaurants, cafes and takeaways.

Live entertainment venues

The Bournemouth International Centre (BIC) is a firm favourite and sells out shows from some of the biggest performers in the music industry. Bournemouth Pavilion is is also an excellent venue, showcasing an interesting mix of theatre productions and comedy shows. Bournemouth Football club are in the premier league so there’s also an opportunity to watch some of the top teams during your stay.

The Bournemouth Air Festival is a wonderful event that takes place in the skies above Bournemouth each year. This spectacular free event sees incredible acrobatic displays from the Red Arrows and an incredible lineup of air display teams.
