The non-live Wareham webcam, gives an overview of the weather and skies over the last 24 hours from the Isle of Purbeck. The webcam runs through a screenshot from each hour over the previous day.
Wareham is a pretty town, next to the River Frome and River Piddle, on the western edge of Poole Harbour and is one of the few remaining Saxon walled towns in England. There are quaint cottages and lanes and a nice selection of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. There is a weekly market at Wareham Quay, right next to the River Frome, which is a lovely spot to sit and watch the boats or have a picnic.
Deer are a common sight in the meadows next to the river around sunrise and after sunset. Just a few miles away is Arne Nature Reserve, an RSPB reserve with ancient woodland and open heathland – a haven for birds, reptiles and flower species.
The closest of our holiday accommodation to Wareham is Sandyholme Holiday Park, which is 12 miles west. The area is a great base from which to explore the Jurassic Coast and local landmarks including Corfe Castle, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The park offers holiday homes for hire and pitches for camping and touring, with on-site facilities including a children’s play area, a shower block, a laundry, a wildlife lake, a nature trail and a small shop.
Dog friendly holidays are available and it’s a great dark location for stargazing! Our other resorts of Highlands End, Golden Cap and Graston Copse are located around a 50 to 60 minute drive away from Wareham.
