X53 bus

A fews days ago I had to take a vehicle to a garage in Exeter so I decided to return on X53 bus – the Jurassic Coaster bus which travels from Exeter to Poole – a key tourist route developed by Devon and Dorset County Councils over the last ten years.

The route is now well established and has become very well used by locals and visitors to the Jurassic Coast.

I have heard many people talking about the experience, so I decided that I would return to Chideock on the X53. I was lucky and managed to get the front seat on the top deck of the bright red double decker. What a view! We left Exeter and joined the coast road and it was great looking over the hedges when the higher hedges were not scrapping along the side of the bus.. We passed Crealy one of the top tourist attractions for people on caravan holidays in Devon followed by the very popular and famous Donkey Sanctuary.

It was good to see the range of farming activities including the many pig farms. The narrow lanes down to Beer really tested the skill of the driver. My photo shows the main street of Lyme Regis.
