Success at the SW Tourism Awards!

7 February 2020Holiday Park News

We had a successful night at the South West Tourism Awards in the fantastic setting of Exeter Cathedral, where Highlands End Holiday Park won a silver award for Holiday Park of the Year across Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Following on from Highlands End Holiday Park winning gold in the Holiday Park of the Year category at the Dorset Tourism Awards and West Dorset Leisure Holidays being a finalist in the Family Business of the Year category at the Dorset Business Awards, it’s been a very good few months for all of us at West Dorset Leisure Holidays.

As well as winning the silver holiday park of the year award, there was a very prestigious and unexpected award for our Managing Director, Martin Cox. In front of almost 400 tourism businesses and VIP guests, Martin was presented with this year’s award for Outstanding Contribution to Tourism.

Alistair Handyside, chair of the SW Tourism Alliance, paid tribute to Martin’s outstanding achievements and the huge impact he has made on the tourism industry regionally, nationally and internationally. Martin serves on a range of tourism groups and enterprise partnerships in the South West, including Destination Dorset which helps raise the county’s profile, EFCO&HPA which represents more than 23,000 holiday park businesses across Europe and the British Holiday & Home Parks Association with over 3,000 member parks across the UK.

What our guests say

  • Very peaceful Park

The wildlife is stunning, we were visited by the ducks on a regular basis which was lovely. Our visit was very enjoyable and we will definitely be back in the future!

  • 5 out of 5 isn't enough!

This is simply our favorite touring park along the south coast. The location couldn't be better with views to die for and an abundance of fresh sea air. The park is spic and span and extremely well kept with very friendly staff.

  • Best holiday ever!

This is by far the best Holiday Park I have been to. The views are breath taking with easy access to the beach and nice coastal walks to West Bay. If you're looking for a relaxing holiday in a stunning location, then this is the place to come.

Golden Cap is a little bit of heaven. The views are awesome, right next to the sea. It's all relaxed and low key just how we like it.

  • A tour of Dorset!

An excellent Park as a base to visit the Dorset coast, Jurassic Coast, Chesil Beach, Lyme Regis, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, to name a few.

  • Fantastic Park

10 out of 10 is not enough for this Holiday Park. We have been here 3 times and we love it more and more every time. The park has all you need, with some pitches overlooking the sea and a great restaurant.
