Success at the SW Tourism Awards!

We had a successful night at the South West Tourism Awards in the fantastic setting of Exeter Cathedral. Highlands End Holiday Park won a silver award for Holiday Park of the Year. This was against parks from across Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire.

Following on from Highlands End Holiday Park winning gold in the Holiday Park of the Year category at the Dorset Tourism Awards and West Dorset Leisure Holidays being a finalist in the Family Business of the Year category at the Dorset Business Awards, it’s been a very good few months for all of us at West Dorset Leisure Holidays.

Outstanding Contribution to Tourism Award

As well as winning the silver holiday park of the year award, we had another reason to celebrate. There was a very prestigious and unexpected award for our Managing Director, Martin Cox. Martin was presented with this year’s award for Outstanding Contribution to Tourism. This was done in front of almost 400 tourism businesses and VIP guests.

At the South West Tourism Awards, Alistair Handyside, chair of the SW Tourism Alliance, paid tribute to Martin’s outstanding achievements. He mentioned the huge impact he has made on the tourism industry regionally, nationally and internationally. Martin serves on a range of tourism groups and enterprise partnerships in the South West, including Destination Dorset which helps raise the county’s profile, EFCO&HPA which represents more than 23,000 holiday park businesses across Europe and the British Holiday & Home Parks Association with over 3,000 member parks across the UK.
