Sandyholme Improvements

As Easter comes to an end, the team at Sandyholme wanted to say ‘hi’ and let you know what they have been up to on the park over the last 6 months. It certainly has been a busy period transforming the park following an extensive investment and development program over the winter so it’s a great time to book a holiday at Sandyholme or find out about holiday homes for sale, where we have new caravans from just £26,500 and pre-owned caravans from just £14,995! So what have we done? Well here is a little description of your arrival and the changes on the park…

As you enter the drive to the park, you pass the fenced children’s play area, playing field and wildlife lake before you get to the new purpose built lodge reception building on your left. Our parking for arrivals is just outside where you can check in with the team and gather information from our new arrivals pack before proceeding through the new park barrier into the main area of the park with pitches for touring, camping and seasonals, as well as holiday homes for sale and hire.

Our shiny new reception, complete with decking has really changed the feeling to the entrance of the park. It feels more welcoming than ever and has made the arrival process (in our opinion) much more friendly and inviting, just what Sandyholme deserves. Even our doggy guests staying in hire caravans now get a complimentary collapsible water bowl on arrival. There is a new gravel outdoor recreation area with picnic benches, where you can relax and take in the surrounding fields and farm land. This area will soon see the introduction of plants, herbs, shrubs, flowers and bushes for the raised beds.

The wildlife lake still has some planting and seeding outstanding but has been dredged, trees trimmed and landscaping to be developed over the coming 24 months. This is an exciting time for us and a good job to be working on throughout the season. Our bug hotel and other wildlife-friendly habitats have started to be built and we are currently looking into butterfly banks and bee hotels to continue developing our environmental schemes, which includes the David Bellamy Award Scheme, of which Sandyholme has been a gold winner for over 10 years running!

Once you are on the park, there are some new grass seasonal pitches with electric (phone 01308 426947 for more details), as well as some grass pitches for camping. For those of you who love visiting the meadow, it continues to provide a spacious area for non-electric camping for up to 80 tents and we have trimmed the hedges and mown the grass in preparation for the coming months, when it will be open more often than last year. The park also has a new electric vehicle charging point, ramp access to the reception and a new refuse and recycling bay to help us and you achieve a 50% rate or recycling in 2019!
