Enjoy an adrenaline fuelled boat trip along the Jurassic Coast with Lyme Bay Rib Charters. Take a guided open top canoe tour along the River Brit with West Bay Canoes. The two-hour trips are a great way to discover lesser-known parts of Dorset and admire the wildlife and scenery. Along the two kilometre journey you will travel up stream to a creek near Bridport before making your way back to bustling West Bay.

The Tunnel Treetops, Axminster

Teenagers will love this action-packed, high ropes course at The Tunnel Woodlands near Axminster. The forest lies within an Area of Natural Beauty and offers an afternoon of fun for all the family. There are 11 obstacles, including rope bridges, zip wires and suspended walkways to negotiate as you make your way along the route. Each of the obstacles test different skills and has various elements to overcome. Spectators are free to follow the route at ground level to capture photos as the kids conquer their fears!

Young anglers will enjoy a boat fishing trip with West Bay Charters. Head out into Lyme Bay and try to catch a variety of species whilst drifting or fishing at anchor. There are a range of trips available, lasting between 3 and 8 hours. There are even 1 hour mackerel trips if you’d prefer to test your sea legs before committing to a full day on the water! The friendly crew will be on hand to help you out if you’ve never fished before. This is a great activity for intrepid kids to enjoy whilst on holiday.

Stand up paddle boarding is all the rage in Dorset and absolute must during your stay at one of our holiday parks. Join Sara, a highly qualified instructor to master the art of this fun water sports activity whilst experiencing the beauty of the Jurassic Coast. Sara offers a dedicated kids club aimed at improving young people’s water confidence through games and fun activities. There are also one to one lesson’s, guided tours and group sessions available, if all members of the family want to give it a go. If you already have some experience you can hire a board at West Bay’s Middle Beach if you’d prefer.

Paragliding, West Bay

This activity is reserved for only the most daring of teens. Soar high above the Jurassic Coast on a tandem paragliding trip with Sky Safaris. Fly thousands of feet in the air and take in the views from above. This adventure activity is undoubtedly one of the best ways to see the beautifully scenery for which the South West is famed. The introductory trips typically last 15-30 minutes and take off from West bay. You’ll head towards Thorncombe Beacon before landing on the beach or on the cliff top.

2020 Skate & Ride, Bridport

2020 Skate & Ride is the ideal hangout for avid skateboarders or BMXers. The indoor skatepark can be found in the Gore Cross Business Park in Bridport and boasts a selection of ramps, including a vert wall, hidden dip ramp, mammoth jump and quarter pipes of varying heights. All riders are required to wear a helmet and there is a café and seating area with viewing monitors for family members to watch. Due to the small size, only 10 riders can use the facility at any time, so we highly recommend booking your session in advance.

The Tunnel Target Sports Centre, Axminster

Learn how to safely fire a gun under expert supervision at The Tunnel Target Sports Centre near Axminster. The world class rifle range is housed within a disused road tunnel and was built to prepare athletes for the 2012 Olympics. There are a number of shooting experiences on offer, some of which are available to young people aged 12 and over. Sessions typically last 1 hour and include target practice and detailed information on safe handling. All firing is carried out in a controlled manor with appropriate safety measures in place.

Rockburn, Bridport

Adventurous teens can try their hand at indoor climbing and bouldering with the team at Rockburn in Bridport. The purpose build gym boasts 75 metres of bouldering wall up to a height of 4.5m. There are plenty of different sessions to take part in depending on your youngsters age or skill level. If they’re completely new to the sport they can participate in a taster session, where they’ll learn the tips and tricks needed to manoeuvre across the different walls with ease. There’s also a tasty café on site serving wholesome home-cooked food to refuel after a busy morning climbing.
