More Dog-Friendly Holidays Than Ever Before!
At West Dorset Leisure Holidays (WDLH), we believe that no family member should be left behind — even the furry ones! As dog ownership continues to rise in the UK, we’re stepping up to make sure your four-legged friends feel just as welcome as you do. That’s why we’re excited to announce some paw-some updates that will make our Holiday Parks more dog-friendly than ever in 2025.
More Dogs, More Joy: Up to 3 Dogs Allowed!
We’re thrilled to share that we’ve increased the limit of dogs allowed in our dog-friendly accommodation, and on our touring and camping pitches. All bookings in suitable accommodation will now be able to bring up to 3 dogs!
Whether you’re a household with multiple pets, or you’re holidaying with friends and their dogs, this change ensures everyone can come along for the adventure.
Please note, due to restricted space in some Glamping Pods at Highlands End, we’ve kept a limit of 2 dogs in places.
As dogs vary considerably in size, all dog-owners are encouraged to look at the accommodation photos to decide if the space is suitable for them and their pets. If you’re not sure, our friendly Bookings Team will be happy to advise you.
This 3-dog-limit also applies to our Holiday Home Owners, and Seasonal Pitch holders too.
Additional Dog-Friendly Accommodation
To meet growing demand, we’ve boosted our dog-friendly accommodation units from around 52% to over 75% across all our Parks. This means that three-quarters of our accommodation, including lodges, caravans, bungalows, and glamping spaces are now welcoming to dogs. You’ll find more availability than ever before to choose the perfect dog friendly holidays for your family and your furry friends.
We’ve still kept around a quarter of our accommodation designated as dog-free, to provide for those with allergies or specific preferences.
As before, dogs are still welcome on all of our touring and camping pitches.
An Upgraded Doggy Shower
At Highlands End, we’ve upgraded the dog shower at the Touring & Camping facility block. With many pitches here available all year round (as well as at Golden Cap), this adjustable temperature shower is fantastic for washing off muddy paws after a long winter walk, or a dip in the sea.
What Else?
Here’s everything else we’re already doing to make staying here comfortable for your precious pets:
- Off-lead dog exercising areas at each park
- Dog-friendly caravans, lodges and bungalows all have an enclosed decking area
- Poo bins at key locations
- Dogs welcome in many areas of Martin’s Bar & Restaurant
- Essentials like treats, toys, poo bags and more in the Park Shops (what’s available varies by Park)
- Tie points and water bowls outside key locations on the Parks, including facility blocks and Park Shops
- Dog beds included in dog-friendly Lodges (remember to bring your own blankets)
If you’re staying with your dogs in some of our accommodation next year, we’re planning on introducing some little welcome goodies for your canine companions, so keep your eyes peeled!
