Grastonbury 2026: Sun, Songs, and £750 Raised for the Blood Bikes!

The late May bank holiday weekend brought the ultimate festival vibes straight to Graston Copse Holiday Park for our spectacular Grastonbury Festival! It was an incredible afternoon filled with live music, brilliant outfits, fantastic food, and an overwhelming amount of community spirit.

With the holiday homeowners and holidaymakers of our Graston Copse and Larkfield Holiday Parks all invited, the event was a massive success, culminating in a fantastic £750 raised for a vital local charity.

Festival Vibes & Home-Grown Talent

The sun was shining down on West Dorset as Graston Copse Holiday Park transformed into a vibrant festival. Our owners and guests fully embraced the theme, arriving in spectacular festival attire – there was no shortage of flares, sequins, and retro flower power on show!

The afternoon’s soundtrack was provided entirely by our own talented community and team:

Jack & Friends, a live 4-piece band, took over the reception decking to play us some light jazz and festive rock.
Our very own team members took to the keyboards with some cracking tunes from Abba and The Beatles, getting everyone singing along.

No festival is complete without great food! We shared a wonderful communal buffet packed with enough food to feed a small army, with many homeowners making delicious home-made goodies to contribute to the spread.

Raising Over £750 for Yeovil Freewheelers Blood Bikes

While Grastonbury was a great day out for our owners and holidaymakers, we always try to raise some much-needed funds for a worthy cause at our events. For this year’s festival, we chose to support Yeovil Freewheelers (YFW) Blood Bikes. Founded in 1978, they are the oldest operational blood bike group in the country.

Running entirely on the dedication of unpaid volunteers, they deliver blood, platelets, blood & tissue samples, medication, breast milk, documents, and equipment throughout much of Somerset and the whole of Dorset – completely free of charge. Because they receive no funding from the government or the hospitals they serve, they rely entirely on donations to keep their lifesaving bikes on the road.

We were absolutely delighted to have Richard and Kris from YFW Blood Bikes with us for the afternoon to tell us all about their work. They even gave the kids (and big kids!) a chance to sit on their fabulous motorcycle and see it up close.

Thanks to an incredibly popular mega raffle and auction – with prizes ranging from produce and meals out from local businesses, to home-made goods, jewellery, and everyday items – we raised the fantastic sum of £750!

An event like this is only possible because of the amazing teamwork, generosity, and community spirit that defines West Dorset Leisure Holidays.

A massive thank you to our team members who put so much effort into organising the day, to the local businesses who donated spectacular raffle prizes, and above all, to our wonderful holidaymakers and homeowners who joined us in person or donated so generously.
