Rachel’s, West Bay
Situated in a prime location on West Bay harbour, Rachel’s has earned a reputation for offering some of the best fish and chips in West Dorset. The team serve up a range of locally caught and delicious seafood from a small kiosk next to the boats, where you can sit back, relax and enjoy watching the hustle and bustle of the local fishing fleet landing their days catch.
At Rachel’s shack you won’t just find traditional fish and chips (although this is incredibly tasty!), but a wide variety of locally caught seafood transformed into imaginative and tasty dishes. From mussels, seafood stew and lightly battered mackerel to tempura prawns or brown crab, there is an impressive variety for such a small kitchen!
Lyme’s Fish bar, Lyme Regis
Lyme’s Fish Bar is a must visit during any trip to Lyme Regis, if you’re hoping to enjoy lovingly prepared fish and chips next to the sea. This traditional family run business was first established after the Second World War and has rightfully has earned its place as a firm favourite amongst visitors and locals alike.
The batter recipe has been perfected through the generations and all chips are peeled and sliced on site to ensure ingredients are as fresh as possible. Lyme’s Fish Bar has two sites in the town, one of which offers takeaways and a sit down restaurant, which is the perfect pit stop after a long day exploring the town. The other site is a kiosk on the seafront, where you can grab a takeaway to eat with your legs dangling over the harbour wall.
Hive Beach Café, Burton Bradstock
What better place to enjoy fish and chips than on the shoreline of world-renowned Chesil Beach at the acclaimed Hive Beach Café. This highly commended restaurant has received support from some of the most notable food critics in the industry and has been heavily featured in national press. Few restaurants boast such spectacular views overlooking the sea from which their food was caught!

Charmouth Fish Bar, Charmouth
Charmouth Fish Bar is the ideal place to stop for a bite to eat after a busy day fossil hunting along the shore. This family friendly restaurant and takeaway serve up a variety of tasty meals and provide lots of activities to keep the children entertained. Thanks to its central location, it can sometimes get busy, but the accommodating team have made it possible to phone through your order in advance to avoid time spent waiting.
Besides fish and chips, Charmouth Fish Bar are well-known for their adult milk shakes, thick with chocolate and a tipple or two! They also serve a range of other options, including freshly made pizzas with gluten free options as well as gourmet burgers.
Martin’s Bar and Restaurant, Highlands End Holiday Park, Eype
You don’t have to travel far from the holiday park to enjoy a taste of the seaside thanks to Martin’s Bar and Restaurant who serve fish and chips daily from our base at Highlands End. Enjoy far reaching views from the cliff top location over Bridport and West Bay as well as the soft play area to keep the children happy.
The delicious batter is made using award winning ales from our local brewery, Palmer’s Ales to add something a little different to the taste!
