Award-winning Martin’s Bar
We are delighted to announce that Martin’s Bar & Restaurant has won Gold in the Taste of the West Awards at the first time of entering! The annual awards showcase the best food and drink producers in the westcountry and the unique venue at Highlands End Holiday Park was described as a ‘great restaurant with excellent facilities for families, lots of choice of food and excellent local sourcing commitment.’
The judges look for pubs, cafes, restaurants, tearooms and other hospitality businesses that focus on local produce. Martin’s Bar & Restaurant now supports over 20 local suppliers and producers, including Palmer’s Brewery, Westcountry Catch, Dorset Tea and Purbeck Ice Cream.
Tess Frecknell, the Venue Manager, said, “We have now taken it to a whole new level and created the latest local gin by producing our very own strawberry pavlova flavoured ‘Barkis Gin.’ We bottle the Gin at Bridport Market and were delighted to talk to so many people about our menu and ethos. Our newly launched Sunday Carvery “Roast on the Coast,” showcasing local butcher Framptons, has been hugely well received. “We are delighted to have been awarded a gold award in recognition of our efforts to support local and we hope to introduce even more locally inspired dishes in the future.”
