The World Nettle Eating Competition
As if Dorset didn’t have enough character, here’s another of the more bizarre events – the World Nettle Eating Competition!
Participants have an hour to eat as many raw stinging nettles as they can, to try and claim the title. We suspect this one might be more fun to watch, but if you’re brave enough to take part, you must book your place in advance.
Held in the Bottle Inn in Marshwood, this event forms part of their Summer Solstice celebration weekend, with a 3 day Ale & Cider Festival taking place too.
