Bridport Torchlight Procession

This fantastic event takes place every year, on the Sunday after Bridport Carnival.

Torches are available to buy around Bridport for most of the day, but make sure to be near Bucky Doo square at dusk when everyone lights theirs together and the procession begins. Thousands of people soon spread out into a long snake of torches that makes its way down to West Bay. When you reach the end, the torches are thrown onto a large bonfire on the beach, before fireworks are set off from the end of the pier. It truly is a spectacular event.
