West Dorset Forager

West Dorset Forager is a coastal educational experience involving fossil hunting, sea creatures and mushroom hunting. They offer whole day experiences for adventurous families and people alike. The days are based in and around Seatown, Chideock, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and beyond.

The experiences are muddy, wet and lots of fun! Get up and close with lobsters, crabs and sharks in their natural environment, safely hold sea creatures and get your “sea creature selfie!”. The West Dorset Forager has nearly 40 years experience in searching for and catching these wonderful creatures amongst the rocks and seaweeds.

Fossil hunting is also a part of these exciting days as well as taking to the woods in search of fabulous fungi, bugs, slugs and any sign of life by climbing, rambling and rooting around!

You can customise your experience with a beach BBQ, swimming, snorkelling, spear fishing and private hire predator fishing. Full moon sea creature hunting (2-3 hours) is available for the extremely adventurous!
