The Platform Restaurant is an award-winning, quirky station carriage, turned into a restaurant serving a variety of seafood, steak and burger dishes.

The quirky and vintage railway station brings an old-world location into the modern day. This unique restaurant is a must-visit in the West Bay area.

The original carriage was previously a hospital coach which was used in World War 1. The owners of The Platform Restaurant sourced some train track, parked it at the station and converted the carriage into a restaurant.

The Platform Restaurant is a family business and the restaurant is a place to unwind and enjoy the vibrancy of life.

There is a strong focus on seafood and the menu changes with the seasons – keeping it fresh and showcasing local produce at its very best.

The newest carriage, called Beeching, was built in 1958 and offers tables for pre-dinner cocktails and drinks, while the World War 1 carriage is called Brunel and was built in 1911. This carriage is the main dining area.

The historic and beautiful Station House was built in 1884 by the Bridport Harbour railway station and was renamed West Bay by the railway company that built it. The Station House is the dog friendly area of the restaurant – exquisitely decorated inside and offers dining and pre-dinner drinks, when possible.
