Seaton Tramway

closed now icon This place is not usually open now.

Seaton Tramway operates narrow gauge heritage trams along a 3 mile track between Seaton and Colyton in the beautiful East Devon countryside. Travelling alongside the River Axe Estuary, the trams pass through 2 nature reserves, giving great views of the abundant bird life. Seaton is one of the gateway towns to the Jurassic Coast and Colyton is worth a visit, described as “Devon’s most rebellious town.”

Seaton Marshes provides a great place to explore by the tramway or on foot with herons, foxes and kingfishers. At the station in Colyton there is The Garden Room which is a great place to enjoy the Tramstop Cafe delights, including one of the best cream teas in Devon. The journey along the 3 mile tramway takes around half an hour from end to end. Open toppers or enclosed saloons operate according to the weather conditions. The station at Seaton where the track begins also has a cafe and gift shop, as well as a stunning showroom displaying some of the famous heritage trams.

Tickets can be booked online and there are various experiences available including bird watching trips, tram driving experiences and a wildlife and landscape photography tram. There is a pay and display car park in Seaton, close to the station.
