Explore Seaton Wetlands and enjoy beautiful marshland and reedbeds alongside the River Axe. There are five bird hides and nearly 4km of level trails and boardwalks, suitable for wheelchairs, bikes and pushchairs. Visit the Discovery Hut for wildlife information, refreshments and pond-dipping equipment hire. There are exciting events throughout the year for all ages to enjoy. An off-road mobility scooter can be hired with advance notice.
There are a number of different areas – Colyford Common with its peaceful bird hide, viewing platform and a circular route around the reedbeds; Stafford Marsh with a wildlife garden, picnic area and Discovery Hut; Black Hole Marsh with 360 degree panoramic views over the intertidal lagoon where you can see the Seaton Tramway pass as well as spotting birds, ducks and kingfishers; and Seaton Marshes with its freshwater grazing marsh with scrapes, ditches, the Borrow Pit Pond and a bird hide.
Only assistance dogs are allowed, there is on-site parking, entry is free and there are toilets including accessible and baby changing. There is a fantastic Seaton Heritage Trail Map available to pick up from Seaton Wetlands or available online, which starts at Seaton Jurassic and is a 5 mile circular walk covering the seafront, cliffs, the wetlands, Jubilee Gardens, Couchill Common, Honeyditches Roman Site and more.
