The End Of An Era For A011
Last week marked a significant moment here at Highlands End Holiday Park as Caravan A011 was emptied and awaits removal from the park. Whilst we move and replace caravans every winter, this particular holiday home has been on its pitch for almost 40 years and we will be sad to see it go.
The owner of A011 purchased this caravan 39 years ago, in 1984, for the grand price of £400, having already been an owner at Highlands since 1975. In her 48 years as an Owner on the park, she has enjoyed many happy holidays here in Dorset, becoming part of the community of Owners here at Highlands End. Back in the 80’s, the agreement which applied to the pitch did not have an expiry date, something that is now standard practice across the majority of holiday parks in the UK. We have honoured the agreement that the owner signed and continued to welcome her to the park, with the older style caravan becoming a talking point for many visitors. Unfortunately, due to ill health, she is no longer able to make the journey here, and is sad to be giving up her Caravan. The pitch sits near the top of the park, close to all the park facilities and with a view towards the sea at Eype.
Last week also marked the beginning of the season for all our other Caravan Holiday Home Owners, many of whom were keen to get back to the parks on the first day they could! They’ll all be able to enjoy unlimited spontaneous holidays throughout the season, with no need to book or plan in advance. If you’re interested in owning a holiday home, we have a number of new and pre-owned caravans for sale at Highlands End, as well as our other parks. Unfortunately, prices aren’t quite what they were in the 80’s, but our friendly sales team will help you find a holiday home to suit your preferences and budget and choose which of our parks is the perfect fit for you. Get in touch by emailing sales@wdlh.co.uk or visit holidayhomesindorset.co.uk to find out more.
