Supporting the local fire station
I am a member of the Bridport Rotary and we recently held a ‘Race Night’ at Highlands End Restaurant. The Rotary decided that half of all the profit would be donated to the Fire fighters charity at Bridport Fire Station. The Fire Crews have kindly assisted the Rotary Club in many fund raising endeavours and the club wanted to show their gratitude by giving something back. Members of the Rotary Club were invited to the station and shown how some of the lifesaving equipment worked and met the fire fighting team.
The May bank holiday ‘Caravan Holiday Home Show’ at Golden Cap was a great success, it was noted that over 50 beef burgers were sold. We were extremely lucky with the weather and customers as well as staff all had a fun couple of days. I would like to thank the Caravan suppliers that assisted us in the weekend and hope that they enjoyed it as much as we did. We are now processing a number of orders and there will be some proud owners of new Caravan Holiday Homes next month.
New to Golden Cap and Highlands End Holiday Parks are the Camping Pods which are now available for hire. We have already had great feedback from families that have stayed in them and the great weather has contributed massively to a lot of happy customers. The Camping Pods we are marketing as an innovative idea for families to come camping, bring all your camping equipment but leave the tent at home…. and sleep in the pods.
From Mid-July an evening craft market is going to be opening in West Bay until September. The market is going to be an excellent opportunity for local crafts to be available to holiday makers coming to West Bay (also currently known as ‘Broadchurch’ from the ITV drama) and for local people enjoying the evening sunsets across the bay, followed by some traditional ‘Fish N Chips’ for dinner.
