The next blog in a series, where we speak to holiday home owners to find out why they chose holiday home ownership, what they like about it and what they like about the area!

What are your first names and where do you call home?

Sam and Keith Ogden, we live in Altrincham near Manchester.

How long have you been Holiday Home Owners with West Dorset Leisure Holidays?

Since March 2020.

Which Holiday Home do you own (make & model) and what do you like about it?

An ABI Coworth deluxe 36ft 2 bedroom 2020 model. We love the kitchen being separated from the lounge, the en-suite and King size bed (more than we have at home!). The lounge space is generous for the 2 of us plus our dog and when we have family and friends come to stay with us.

How often do you visit your Holiday Home?

Around 100 to 120 nights per season. We try for every couple of weeks, other life commitments permitting.

How easy was the process of purchasing your Holiday Home?

Quite straight forward, but I had done a lot of research before buying. We originally came to look at a secondhand caravan, but weren’t keen on its position when offered a new one on a much nicer pitch.

Which Holiday Park for you own your Holiday Home on and what factors led to you choosing that Holiday Park?

Graston Copse Holiday Park – we wanted quiet and yet convenient. This park absolutely gives us that. We also wanted a smaller park, not a massive one with hundreds of caravans. The layout, walks and proximity to the village and beach are excellent.

What are the top 3 things you enjoy about Holiday Home Ownership?

Relaxation, home from home and near the sea.

What are the top 3 things you enjoy about the local area?

The beach, Dorset generally is beautiful but we love the village of Burton Bradstock.

Where are your favourite places to places to eat / beaches / attractions / things to do?

Walking, visiting the local towns and villages. Places to eat, we like the New Inn at Shipton Gorge and both The Anchor Inn and Three Horseshoes Burton Bradstock.

What tips / recommendations would you make to anyone thinking about becoming Holiday Home Owners?

Don’t buy on finance or thinking its a financial investment. It’s a lifestyle choice. Do lots of research and be sure where you buy will sustain your interest for years. Consider your travelling distance.
