Bridport Business Awards 2026
We have well and truly hit the ground running this year, and we’re excited to be starting 2026 on a high note. We’re proud to say that in the first full week back at work in January, West Dorset Leisure Holidays has already won its first award of the year! James Cox, Group Manager and part of the family that has run WDLH for 55 years, was thrilled to pick up a Family Business Award from the Bridport Business Chamber.
Judges praised the fact that three generations of the family have all made their individual contributions to different areas of the business over the years. The story began back in 1971 with just Highlands End, which at that point was predominantly a farm with numerous pig and cow sheds and only a handful of caravans. Now, the Group consists of 6 award-winning Holiday Parks with a range of facilities that are enjoyed by both holidaymakers and local families.
“My Grandparents made the decision to move to West Dorset in 1971 and the whole business is set up around a family-run ethos. Our Team are the soul of the business and their efforts are the reason that as a family and a business, we can continue to be successful. As a family and a very close Team, we are proud to be part of a fantastic community.”

WDLH were also proud to sponsor the awards yet again, helping to keep entries free for all the local businesses who benefit from them. We presented a Customer Service Award to two fantastic, well-deserving, and very different organisations – Smith & Smith and Sunny Days Nursery.
