Lyme Regis Museum

This place is not usually open now.

David Attenborough describes this attraction as “A delightful and remarkable museum, a jewel”.

Lyme Regis Museum stands in the heart of the town of Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. Built in 1900 by Thomas Philpot, the museum has a stunning seafront location in a town that is world-famous for its fossils. There is an interactive geology galley, a learning centre, local history, fossil hunting walks, famous writers, paintings and information about Lyme Regis’s most famous fossil hunter – Mary Anning.

Discover 200 million years of history with this wonderful day out and a full calendar of events, particularly in the school holidays. Guided fossil hunting walks are available for up to 10 people. Parking is available nearby at the Charmouth Road Car Park.
