How far is Bridport from Weymouth?
Bridport is 20 miles from Weymouth. We highly recommend visiting Weymouth for a day trip during your stay at one of the West Dorset Leisure Holidays Parks.
By car – the drive from Bridport to Weymouth takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. We highly recommend taking the scenic Jurassic Coast Road (B3157), which boasts spectacular views over Chesil Beach, the Fleet Lagoon and the Isle of Portland as you drive. There are sea views for much of the journey and you’ll pas through picturesque villages such as Burton Bradstock, West Bexington and Abbotsbury as you head in land.
By bus – it is possible to travel from Bridport to Weymouth on public transport. The Jurassic Coaster Bus follows the Jurassic Coast Road and takes approximately 1 hour 20 minutes. The x51 or x53 services uses double decker buses, which means you’ll be able to take in the scenery without having to concentrate on driving. From the elevated position you can enjoy uninterrupted views of the Dorset coast and countryside.
You can pick up the bus from East Street in Bridport before alighting at the Kings Statue on Weymouth seafront. See the First Bus website for up to date timetables.
