Winter Holidays in Dorset 2023/2024
Thinking about a winter break in Dorset this winter? At West Dorset Leisure Holidays, we have accommodation available at two of our award-winning parks, Highlands End and Golden Cap, as well as pitches for touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes available at Highlands End only. Read on to find out more information about our opening dates and what’s available.
Winter Breaks at Highlands End Holiday Park
Highlands End Holiday Park is in a spectacular location for winter breaks, with exhilarating clifftop walks, a leisure club with sauna and steam room (charges may apply) and bar & restaurant with log burner. Opening times for certain facilities are restricted this year.
Winter breaks are available in luxury lodges, apartments and bungalows, as well as on hard-base or gravel pitches for motorhomes, touring caravans and campervans.
Hire Accommodation
We offer holidays throughout the winter in 1, 2 or 3 bedroom lodges, 2 or 4 bedroom apartments and 1 bedroom bungalows, with arrival days of Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. Our bungalows and select lodges are dog friendly, but our apartments are not. Eype View Lodge is not available.
Over the festive period we have set arrival dates – you can either stay from Friday the 22nd December for 7 nights, or from Friday the 29th December for 4 or 7 nights. Stays over the festive period can only be booked by calling the bookings team on 01308 426947.
Pitches
Highlands End is proud to be one of the only parks in the area offering pitches for touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes all year round. All our hard-based pitches and select gravel pitches are available throughout the winter and can be booked online.
Over the festive period, there is a 4 night minimum stay, and you will not be able to arrive on the 24th, 25th, 26th or 31st December or the 1st January.
Due to popular demand, we will keep all our facility blocks open for the duration of Winter, even over Christmas and New Year. This includes the toilets and showers motorhome service point, chemical disposal point, disabled toilet, dishwasher, washing up sinks, laundry room and iron & ironing board. Please be aware, we may only have one facility block available at any one time.
Facilities at Highlands End
Highlands End Leisure Club will be closed from the 4th December until approximately the 8th January due to essential maintenance work.
Martin’s Bar & Restaurant and The Little Fire Station Soft Play will be closed from the 1st December, reopening in the evening on the 5th January. The Bar & Restaurant will only open for the following select events: Turkey & Tinsel Carvery on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th December, and a Christmas Party on the 22nd December.
The SPAR Store will be closed on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st December and the 1st January.
Shepherd’s Down Pitch ‘n’ Putt does not open during the winter.
A park warden will always be available on the emergency out-of-hours number.
Winter Breaks at Golden Cap Holiday Park
Fancy a winter break in Seatown, surrounded by great walks, empty beaches and award-winning pubs? At Golden Cap Holiday Park we have 3 bedroom lodges available for winter breaks. These are located right at the entrance to the park, just 150 metres from Seatown Beach and the South West Coast Path. The sea view lodges have views straight out to Seatown Beach and Lyme Bay, while the Horseshoe Lodges enjoy views of the surrounding countryside and hills.
Lodges
We offer luxury Lodge holidays throughout the winter, with arrival days of Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, with a small period of closure in January until February half term.
Langdon and St Gabriel’s Lodges are not available.

Facilities at Golden Cap
The Reception and SPAR will be closed for most of winter. There is a convenience store in Chideock, just a short walk away.
A park warden will always be available on the out-of-hours number.
