Our Winter developments are nearing completion

14 March 2022Holiday Park News

Every winter, we look to improve the holiday parks, whether that’s changes to the guest experience on the park, things behind the scenes, or the actual pitches and accommodation. This winter, we have 4 different development works taking place and here we provide an update on them and more information about each of them:

Golden Cap Holiday Park – Touring Pitches

At Golden Cap, one of our most commonly requests for improvement was the touring pitches opposite the Jurassic Escape Pods, in terms of access getting onto them and levelling them up. We’ve listened to your feedback and a local contractor has been busy doing the necessary work over the last few weeks, which is now nearing completion.

This work will provide 5 spacious and level gravel pitches with easy access from the road and adjoining parking space. These pitches are for motorhomes and campervans only – unfortunately no touring caravans are able to use these pitches.

The pitch in the top right corner of the photo below will be home to a new glamping option – a Jurassic Pod, suitable for up to 2 people and with a kitchen and bathroom – find out more. You may also spot one of our Safari Tents looking a little different – awaiting a replacement roof, following Storm Eunice.  Bookings for touring pitches and safari tents can be made here.

Golden Cap Holiday Park – South Alberlon

Also taking place at Golden Cap Holiday Park is the second stage of the South Alberlon development, to provide large pitches for holiday homes that are available to purchase. There are 10 new pitches in an area between a small woods, Lake Frances and the River Winniford. These pitches are just a 600 metre walk from Seatown Beach and the Anchor Inn on the Jurassic Coast.

Prices start from £99,500 and holiday homes that are on order for these pitches are available to view here. There are currently 8 pitches remaining (at the time of writing) and we expect holiday homes to start being delivered in late 2022.

Graston Copse Holiday Park

At Graston Copse Holiday Park in Burton Bradstock, the 2 classic camping pods, plus 3 of the existing grass pitches have been removed to make way for 5 new gravel pitches – the first on the park – and with electric hook-up. Bookings for these pitches can be made here. One of the classic camping pods will be used as an information room with details and leaflets about the local area.

Highlands End Holiday Park

At Highlands End, 19 grass pitches have been converted to gravel pitches, meaning the entire North Rye Acres area now has gravel and hard-base pitches only, all with electric hook-up. Over 60 grass pitches with electric hook-up remain available in the South Rye Acres area to the left of the photo below, as well as non-electric grass pitches in the recently-opened Little Shepherd’s Camping Field (limited opening dates). Bookings for touring and camping pitches can be made here.

What our guests say

  • The Most Magical Campsite

We have just come back from the most magical few days staying at Highlands End. In fact, it was so good we extended our stay by a few days whilst on park. We are new to campsites and this was beyond my expectations

  • Wonderful three night stay

Our pitch was spacious and quiet. The facilities were clean and a generous number of showers etc whatever time we needed them. A very picturesque site and plenty to do straight from the van without the need to drive

  • Beautiful weekend away

This park is in a wonderful location. The local village is beautiful and only a 15 min walk along the river. The beach is then another 15 minutes along - again a beautiful walk. We were blessed with amazing weather so we spent the afternoon on Hive Beach.
