Golden Cap Lodge

The new lodge at Golden Cap is nearly ready and I had the chance early last week to take this photograph which shows the wonderful view from the front window.  All the park team are very excited about this new addition to our hire fleet and James and Lucy decided to spend one night to ensure that the home is ready for our first visitor.

Before I give you any more news I must apologise to those of you who have been waiting for the last week………I went away for a couple of days and when I returned I downloaded Explorer 9 which did not like my blog – it kept disappearing……….I have now sorted the problem out and I am up and running again.

This week we have changed all the beer taps in the bar at Highlands and we have added an additional pump for a guest beer – let us know if you would like to make a recommendation – we have started this week with Palmers ‘Dorset Gold’ which is already proving a popular summer beer.

I am also busy trying to sort out the insurance for the Fire Engine which many of you will have seen in the bar – it is definitely coming out and we are booked into the Vintage Rally organised by the West Dorset Vintage Tractor Club at West Bay on 12/13 June. The fire engine has not been out for 15 years and the rules and regulations have changed and I am chasing around looking up MOT, insurance and tax requirements – whatever you want to do it always involves lots of paperwork. Talking about red tape, I added my entry to the Red Tape Challenge today – probably wasting my time.

Next Blog entry will be fairly quick as I want to tell you about the Gig racing…….
