How to find fossils at Lyme Regis?

Fossil hunting is one of the most popular activities in Lyme Regis. Every year visitors flock to this section of the Jurassic Coast in search of treasures dating back thousands of years. If you’d like to look for fossils during your day trip to Lyme Regis we recommend signing up to a guided walk. The best beaches for fossil hunting in Lyme Regis are East Cliff Beach and Church Cliff Beach. Both are situated at the Eastern end of the town towards Charmouth. They can get cut off at high water, so always check the tide times before heading out.

    Our pitch was spacious and quiet. The facilities were clean and a generous number of showers etc whatever time we needed them. A very picturesque site and plenty to do straight from the van without the need to drive

    This park is in a wonderful location. The local village is beautiful and only a 15 min walk along the river. The beach is then another 15 minutes along - again a beautiful walk. We were blessed with amazing weather so we spent the afternoon on Hive Beach.
